Choosing Crystals
There are so many crystals on the market these days. There are tumbled stones, geodes, brute crystal, spheres, wands, clusters and natural points. How can we choose which crystal is the right one for us? There are numerous ways to choose a crystal. Before choosing a crystal it is important to ask a series of questions.
What are you choosing a crystal for ? Are you choosing for personal use ? Are you choosing a crystal to enhance a space ? Are you choosing a crystal to meditate with ? Are you choosing a crystal to use in a therapy situation ? What do you require this crystal to do ?
Crystals can help us in all manner of ways.
Once you have ascertained your reason for choosing a crystal, a few questions will already have been answered. The size of the crystal will depend on whether the crystal is to be used in a direct therapy situation upon a client, to be worn or even to affect a change in the environment of a house or room. The type of crystal will depend on what aspect the crystal is to be used for. Some crystals are nurturing and others promote a reaction, some are more useful in certain situations than others. ( This topic will be dealt with in much greater detail in a future topic.) It is also pertinent to mention at this time that rough crystals work in a different way to polished wands and spheres and tumbled stones. All of these forms of crystal can be assessed when deciding or choosing a crystal.
Once we have decided what type and size of crystal, how can we decide exactly which of the available crystals is best suited for us.
1. Sometimes we can look at the choice of crystals and simply know or intuit exactly which is the most suited crystal for our desired use. 2. We can choose by scanning the energy of each available crystal. We can do this by holding each crystal and feeling which energies are most appropriate. Alternatively, we can scan the energies by placing our hands above each stone, independently and sensing which is the most appropriate crystal. 3. We can meditate with each crystal and know from a deeper level which is the most suitable crystal. 4. We can also employ dowsing techniques, this entails using a dowser to test each crystal. 5. If we are not sure which type of crystal is most appropriate, then we can reference a crystal book or choose a crystal card from a deck of various crystal cards. 6. We can adopt a method such as kinesiology. This entails testing how holding each crystal effects our energy system. Normally a crystal which is suitable for us strengthens our energetic system, and our response to external stimuli. With this method we can choose what properties we are testing by intending what we are testing before we begin the test. 7. Occasionally we may dream about a crystal and then find it later on.
It is important to note that in all these methods of selection, intent drives the process. Each person will use which ever methods are most suitable for them. What is a useful tool to one person may not be the best tool for another. At times one tool may be more advantageous than another. No one tool is better than another. It is good for us to have a range of tools that we can adopt when selecting a crystal. I believe it is good to begin by trusting that the choices we make are correct. This will over time enhance our intuitive skills and our ability to trust ourselves more.
Know how to choose a crystal for healing in individual cases.
Crystals can be beneficial in all manner of ways. We can work with crystals both on ourselves and our clients. When working with clients it’s important to choose the crystals we work with wisely. Each person is an individual with individual requirements and situations. In a good relationship with our clients, we are wise if we ascertain our clients needs and their situation both physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and medically. As we begin our relationship with our clients it is important to become acquainted with their case history. We can do this by inquiring about the case history of our clients. Are you using any medication? Have you consulted a Doctor ? Do you have any illnesses ? Do you have any allergies ? How do you think crystals can enhance your life ? What aspects of your life do you wish to work on ?
Medical and case history is only part of the information required to create a healthy relationship with our clients. Building a good rapport with our clients will assist us in many ways. It helps our clients feel more comfortable with us. When our clients feel more comfortable with us and begin to trust us, the real work can begin. As the rapport builds, we can find out more about the real issues and understand which crystals will be most beneficial to use in healing.
Once we are aware of the situation surrounding our clients, we can choose which crystals to work with. Our clients may want to work on specific areas in their lives. We may address these issues by working on certain physical aspects, and choosing crystals that will enhance the functioning of certain organs or muscles. In addition we may want to work on other levels including the emotional and mental planes. In choosing which crystals to work with, we may adopt various techniques to decide which are the best crystals to bring about the desired responses.
We may call upon our experience to decide which are the best crystals to work with. We may seek advice from trusted colleagues. We can use our intuition to seek out the appropriate crystals. We can use kinesiology techniques to ascertain which crystals will work most beneficially on our clients. We may research with books to decide the most useful crystals.
Some crystals work in a soft and nurturing manner. Others work more directly. When choosing which crystal to work with we should always consider the situation and the constitution of our clients.
Which ever method we adopt to choose specific crystals, it is clear that understanding the situations surrounding our clients is imperative before making any decision on a course of action. There are different ways to approach any particular problem. Each approach may have benefits. Mario 2005.
