Jasper is a form of quartz, which has inclusions of iron. Jasper exhibits a trigonal structure and has a hardness of 7.
Jasper forms as dense and opaque masses that are coloured red, yellow and brown. It is a gentle stone to work with. Jasper is a very nurturing and caring stone, providing comfort and stability for the user. It is almost like a hug. In addition the various coloured jaspers there is a multicoloured jasper called Mookite. All of these types of jasper work in the same gentle and supportive manner.
