Tekkite

These rocks are a natural glass that was formed from the impact of a meteor melting the local rock and producing a variety of glass, which has no crystalline structure due to the speed at which it formed. The actual composition of these glasses depends on the location in which they were found. As a result, many of these tekkites have names and properties specific to a region. Moldovaite, for example, is probably one of the most famous of these tekkites. See Moldavite for more information.

Many of the tekkites on the market have no specific name and fall under the name takkite. These glasses have interesting qualities.

Tekkites have a warming effect which stimulates the root and sacral centres, inspiring action and creativity. Meditating with these glasses often produces and uplifting effect and allows the user to travel inside as their third eyes have also been stinmulated. I have often noticed people just giggling and becoming giddy and excited when working with these tekkites.

These are very interesting stones and are well worth investigating with regard to self development.


Thulite

Thulite is a pink form of Zoisite and exhibits an Orthorhombic structure and

has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Thulite is a manganese containing Zoisite which stimulates the user and encourages them to take hold of life and live it to the full. This stone enhances fertility and increases drive in both physicality, thought processes and spiritual endeavours.


Tiger’s Eye

Tiger’s eye is a combination of Riebeckite in Chalcedony, which exhibits a Trigonal structure and has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness.

Tiger’s eye has a wonderful chatoyant appearance of shiny gold and brown.

Tiger’s Eye is formed under high pressure and temperature. As a result this mineral brings stability and courage during times of stress and difficulty. This mineral brings enhanced self esteem and strength.


Titanite

Titanite forms in yellow to green crystals, which exhibit monoclinic

structure and have a hardness of 5 to 5.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Titanite has a high vibration which promotes clarity and clears blockages. This little crystal works on the mental body bringing order and structure to all mental processes. This crystal

raises the energy levels of the user so that the bigger picture can be glimpsed and a new order be put in place.

Titanite creates order and focus and cuts straight to the point of any issue.


Topaz

Topaz is a wonderful crystal, which exhibits an Orthorhombic structure and has a hardness of 8 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Topaz comes in three colours depending on the mineral content. Chromium gives Topaz a yellow to orange colour and produces what is known as imperial Topaz.

Imperial Topaz works well with the solar plexus chakra. This form of topaz is by far the best stone for working on matters of self esteem.

Imperial topaz clears blockages between the solar plexus chakras and both the heart and sacral centres. This releases the energies of courage and creativity from the sacral chakra and the energies of love and self acceptance from the heart chakra. This combination of energy release provides the healthiest combination for sustainable development of strong and well

balanced self esteem.

Iron content gives the Topaz a blue colour. This Blue Topaz works well with the throat chakra, activating this centre in a specific manner. Blue Topaz gives the user the ability to lift out of any situation and then from a detached perspective to look back at the situation from a neutral perspective. Blue Topaz is excellent for allowing the user to be released both from physical, mental and emotional situations. This is gift of a stone to any user.

Tourmaline

This mineral forms part of a complex group which include a variety of Borosilicates and

Cyclosilicates. Elements that are included in this family include Calcium, potassium, chromium

aluminium, sodium, iron and manganese. The crystals in this group do exhibit trigonal structure and have a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness.

This amazing crystal can be found in a variety of single colours and also in bi, tri and even more complicated colour combinations.

Black Tourmaline is by far the most common form of this mineral. Black tourmaline is naturally

piezo-electric, which means that it automatically balances positive and negative electrostatic

charges. This produces a very calming effect on the user, reducing stress and anxiety, increasing calmness and stillness. Black tourmaline is an excellent stone to use for grounding, creating stability and aiding meditation. This type of tourmaline is also an excellent protection stone. It simply grounds all of us so we are less affected by the moods and thoughts of others. The best way to protect yourself from outside influences is to keep your energy in, and in this stone does that very well.

Green Tourmaline is also piezo-electric, and so also brings stability and balance. Green tourmaline works well with the heart, producing a very stabile emeotional state, which is supported by feelings of love. Green tourmaline is excellent to use after flying to reduce jet lag, this can be achieved by simply applying the tip of a crystal to various points on the roof of the head. Green tourmaline is excellent to use after moments of stress and brings great healing and strength to the heart.

Pink tourmaline has many of the properties that green tourmaline has, although it is works

in a much gentler manner and is particularly good with the emotions. This is one of the best heart healers in the crystal world, the lithium in its structure brings great emotional balance and helps to lift the user out of depression.

Watermelon Tourmaline is a rare and beautiful combination of pink tourmaline in the centre of the crystal and green tourmaline growing naturally around the pink. This very gentle operating crystal produces deep and profound results when used in regard to most emotional situations.

Blue Tourmaline is one of the rarest of the tourmaline family and is excellent for use in balancing and gently opening the psychic centres. This stone is very supportive of the thyroid and thymus centres. Blue Tourmaline is excellent for use in psychic development.

Red Tourmaline is very rare and actively balances and then energises the root chakra. This beautiful and rare crystal is a real treat for anyone luck enough to find some.

Yellow tourmaline has a wonderful effect on the user, bring balance to ones thoughts and actively encouraging new options whilst providing the courage to see them through. This stone brings a real maturity to the user as it balances and promotes the personality to achieve more of what is useful.


Tremolite

Tremolite is a variety of silicate that has been produced in a metamorphic fashion and exhibits

monoclinic structure. This mineral has a hardness of 5 to 6.

Tremolite comes in a variety of colours, mainly green and grey. This mineral is very comforting and supportive. It is an excellent mineral to be used in times of stress.
